wombats

The whispering wombat of doom,
Will come to those sinners for whom
There is no salvation;
They're bound for damnation,
As soon as they're dropped in the tomb.

The wittering wombat of grace,
Appears in the good people's case,
That shows they will fly
With new wings, in the sky,
And find there a pleasanter place.

So when on some dark, silent night,
You hear such soft sounds, don't take fright,
A wombat it may
Be, that's just come to say,
To you, that you're wrong or you're right.

According to expert Mick Bissell,
The difference 'twixt witter and whistle
Is slight. So, say Micky,
You may find it tricky
As getting your hand round a thistle.

So, what's that noise? Is it the plumbing?
Or simply the fridge gently humming?
Is it whisper or witter
From a wombatty critter,
That soft up the stairs is a-coming?
