The Marxist history of food preparation.

. Once upon a time electric cookers had a back panel, and then a "roof". Some had an eye-level grill attached to this, but as the presence of that weakens my argument, we'll ignore grills.
This meant that the controls were out of reach of children, away from the heat, easily accessible and visible to those with poor sight.
Then the big bad manufacturer said: We can save a couple of quid if we get rid of this top panel and claim this is the modern look.
So he did.
So now people had to reach over hot surfaces and pans to control the cooking, and all the grease and steam went up to stick on the ceiling.
And the salesmen looked at this and saw it was good, because they could then sell the punters cooker hoods to protect the ceiling.
Then the big bad manufacturer said: we can save another couple of quid by getting rid of the back panel, and tell the mugs this means they can have the cooker in the middle of the room accessible from all sides.
And the punters said "Oh wow, no one in their right mind wants a cooker in the middle of the room, but this is the great new look.
And so it came to pass, and the salesmen looked at it and saw it was good, because the punters would now have to buy tiles for their wall to catch the grease and splashes previously caught by the back panel, and also that as all the controls would get over-heated and crud-covered that they'd have to be replaced regularly.
And the Darwinists looked at it and saw it was good, because all those stupid enough actually to put this thing in the middle of the room and more especially their children, would get scalded to death and the gene pool would thus be enhanced.
